🚓 City Centre Beat Team Weekly Round-Up 🚓 It's been another busy week for our City Centre Beat Team, working to keep communities safe, tackle crime and engage with local residents. Here's a snapshot of some of the activity carried out by the team this week 👇 🛍️ Shoplifting Investigation PCSO Tim identified a prolific shoplifting suspect and carried out detailed enquiries which helped bring the offender to justice. The investigation uncovered links to multiple offences involving hundreds of pounds worth of stolen goods. The suspect has now been arrested and remains under investigation. 🎉 Community Engagement PCSOs Jane and Donna attended the Saxons' 2nd Birthday Celebrations, spending time with residents, listening to community concerns and gathering valuable feedback through local surveys. They also provided crime prevention advice to help residents stay safe. 👮 Supporting Our Future Police Officers PC Ellis supported a cohort of Police Cadets at Town Hall Square, helping them deliver crime prevention activities. The activity complemented wider work taking place in the area to reduce anti-social behaviour and address community concerns. 🌿 Responding to Community Concerns Following reports of drug use and anti-social behaviour in the Cathedral Gardens area, PC Tom conducted a stop search which resulted in the recovery of cannabis. During the encounter, an individual was also arrested in connection with an outstanding offence and has since been released on bail while enquiries continue. 🏢 Partnership Working PC Georgie and PC Ellis met with Metropolitan Housing to continue joint work focused on improving the quality of life for residents. Through strong partnership working, they are addressing local issues and helping to prevent anti-social behaviour within housing blocks. ⛓️ Wanted Suspect Arrested PC Sahib identified and arrested a man wanted in connection with a serious assault investigation. He was taken into custody, helping ensure a potentially dangerous offender was removed from the streets while enquiries progress. 👏 A great week of enforcement, engagement and partnership work by the City Centre Beat Team. Thank you to everyone who continues to report concerns, speak with officers and support our efforts to keep the city centre a safe place to live, work and visit. |
